TIGZ companies in international competition

Over 40% of the companies in the TIGZ operate on international markets, maintaining relations with over 90 countries, whereby the focus is on Europe and Asia. 20% of the company owners in the TIGZ have family ties to other countries. These factors enhance and extend our knowledge of international markets and our perception of foreign cultures - prerequisites when developing international economic relations. Even small start-up companies must set their sights in good time on countries beyond national borders.

Through European projects, business trips and contact to research, the TIGZ promotes, consolidates, initiates and focuses the international business activities of young companies, whereby the TIGZ, its associated companies and the whole region all benefit from these activities.

European exchange programme for new entrepreneurs

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a new European exchange programme aimed at helping new entrepreneurs to acquire relevant skills for managing an SME by spending time working in another EU country with an experienced entrepreneur. The programme offers new entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn from an experienced entrepreneur who is running a small or medium-sized enterprise in another EU country. TIGZ supports new entrepreneurs in finding the best matches, facilitate contacts and follow the relationships before the stay abroad starts.

Kooperationsreisen

In October 2008, a multi-lateral “bridging” was achieved, as new business contacts to Turkish companies and associations were initiated during the TIGZ’s trip to Istanbul. The results of this Matching are quite impressive. 60 percent of the companies taking part have already made specific arrangements to enhance these contacts. In August 2006, the TIGZ organised a Business Trip to Estonia. The aim of these trips is to expose enterprises to international cooperation opportunities, to create unique selling points and to sound out segmentation strategies.
